CLIENT: Gold Spark Design, Denver, CO

DELIVERABLES: Full color digitally illustrated asset for product label.

SCOPE: Gold Spark Design (GSD) is a graphic design company that specializes in creative packaging designs for food, beverage, and supplements, and they often commission me to do bespoke illustrations for their clients' labels. This particular client, Graveyard Garlic, commissioned us for several spice labels/SKUs. 

For this SKU, GSD's client wanted a vampire-themed scene with a vampire skull biting into a large garlic, a wooden stake and hammer, bats, and wanted the sky to have the same Van Gogh-like swirls as is used in all SKUs with changing colors. GSD provided me with the label template, and I sketched the following (note, the client also originally wanted a full moon and for the wooden stake and hammer to be a cross in the ground):

We originally had the ground red, but I recommended we make the ground snow so everything around the skull could be red. We also opted to make the scene looking out of a cave mouth. I provided the following updated sketch (some areas are left unfinished because I knew there was going to be graphic designs covering them):

They loved it! This is the final result:
